The Story of PH7

Husband and father of five, I've learned life is about serving and purpose, working within a moral code. We aren't born knowing right from wrong but we mostly learn in our early years and our purpose develops and evolves throughout life. Providing we never allow ourselves to stop learning; even from our mistakes, we develop new and ever changing ways to serve those purposes.

My journey started as a young farm hand on the family farm near Consort Alberta. I went from a  mechanic student to farm machinery mechanic, earned my Red Seal and Journeyman credentials and went on to start my first mechanic business over the course of ten years. Selectively leaving out the various pitfalls but trust me, they were there and I'm a better person for coming through them with scars not denial. A few years later my mechanic business sold and I was unable to stay employed with the new owners so I entered what you might call a  transitional phase. I married my wife and we became a family. My kids are my motivation and most of them would say I've got their recommendation even. I was able to build up hundreds of hours toward  my pilots license and returned to oilfield operations with consulting roles before partnering up with a friend and together we founded Clear Glycol, a glycol recycling business. Through our mutual connections we serviced oilfield and like sites with recycled glycol products we fine tuned while I completed my private pilot license and began to build to my commercial license which I now proudly hold and put to good use monitoring from the air.  Through the course 8 years we grew Clear Glycol to become the largest glycol recycling facility in Canada. Much was learned in each journey; not the least of which was the importance of hearing the needs of customers and meeting those needs. And learning that things don't always turn out the way you thought they would - and there'll always be struggles and change - that's okay too, in fact necessary. And often times, it turns out for the best.

The business sold in 2020 and I remained on in my role through the following year. I wish that valued team all the best in their continued efforts while I focus on family time and my dream of flying more.

Late 2021 I founded PH7 Solutions. The business allows me to continue my flying while working with my family and the many customers I've met along the way; still listening, still learing.

The mandate is to consult with customers, communities and businesses alike to use the most appropriate proven technology to lessen environmental impact.
